About us
When I have felt like I had nothing or no-one, Horsham Matters has been there. They have stopped my children from going hungry in the school holidays. Horsham Matters makes me feel safe and have guided me, not to just survive, but to live and improve my situation. Horsham Matters has been my hero.”
Horsham Matters supports those living in the Horsham district who are suffering food and household poverty; those who are in crisis, unable to afford food, pay their bills and without household essentials such as a bed to sleep on.
We care passionately about providing long-lasting and practical help and support to anyone in hardship, irrespective of their background or circumstances.
Our network of 17 weekly foodbanks both in central Horsham and in outlying areas via our mobile foodbank provide food and reassurance when it's needed most. Last year we provided 10,220 food parcels - the highest number in our history.
We also offer household budgeting and benefits advice, advocacy and counselling to make long-term difference, as well as running a weekly Connecting Café to bring the community together and tackle social isolation, where those without funds receive a free hot meal.
Can you support our work? Your donation will mean we can keep our foodbank shelves topped up, our mobile foodbank on the move and our specialist advice team trained and available to support those in hardship.
